Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Thanks for being so welcoming to me as I have been here at St. Patrick now for 3 whole weeks! :-)
I want to begin by inviting you to one of two upcoming parish-wide Town Hall meetings. These Town Hall meetings will take place in the St. Patrick Social Hall on Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:30 p.m., with a secondary option for parishioners to attend on Thursday, September 5th at 6:30 p.m. As communicated during the August 10th and 11th weekend Masses, the St. Patrick Building Committee is in the initial stages of examining all aspects of our current campus facilities and existing challenges. We hope that you will be able to join us to provide your input, as we commence this process.
Second, I want to let all of you know that the Archdiocese has been and continues to be a very good working partner with St. Patrick. Sometimes, I think we feel like the Archdiocese just “takes” with things like the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) and other initiatives. And while it is true that monies and funds do go from St. Patrick to the Archdiocese, it’s important for all of you to know that St. Patrick has been and continues to be the recipient of High Growth Parish grants, funded by the ACA, as an example. Since 2001, St. Patrick has received $826,000 in total. This is just one example. We also receive Safety Grants, etc. and other support as well.
Thanks for all you do for St. Patrick Parish. We are blessed to have the Archdiocese partnering with us in the future plans for the Catholic Church in Western St. Charles County!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Dan Shaughnessy
