Schnucks has an electronic fundraising program called a Community Club Card. These cards are free. By presenting your card to the cashier every time you shop, your purchases are tracked and contributions are generated with every purchase. There are no cards or certificates to buy ahead of time. The program gives 1% on the 1st $300 in purchases, 2% on $301-$600 and 3% on $601-$900. At the end of the month, you start at $0 again. If you would like to sign up for a Schnucks Community Club Card, stop by the SCRIP room or pick up a card at Schnucks, you can activate it yourself by going online or calling the 800 number on the card. If you have or are going to sign up on your own and you would like to credit a St. Patrick full-time or PSR family, please give me a call or e-mail me with your name and the family you wish to credit
Please continue to support our SCRIP program; it’s a great way to support our parish. If you haven’t purchase SCRIP yet, the Schnucks Community Club card is a great place to start because there is no need to purchase cards ahead of time.
What is SCRIP and how does SCRIP work?
SCRIP is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase SCRIP, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash.
You can use SCRIP for everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials. With every SCRIP purchase, you earn money for St. Patrick at no additional cost to you. This is an important thing to remember. AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU. The vendor is the one who gives the parish a percentage of money. The amount you buy at the Scrip room is the amount you get to spend. Every penny of it. SCRIP can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline, vacations, and even dining out. There are literally hundreds of vendors who participate in the SCRIP program.
Here are just some of the examples of SCRIP you can buy. Grocery Stores: Dierberg’s and Shop n Save. Gas cards: BP, Mobil, and Shell. Home Improvement: Home Depot and Lowe’s. Department stores: Dillards, Macy’s, JC Penny, Kohls, and Walmart. Specialty stores: Bass Pro Shop, Cabelas, Walgreens, Game Stop, and Best Buy to name a few. Restaurants and Fast Food: McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Red Robin, Bob Evans, Olive Garden and much, much more! We also have support from local businesses: Dairy Queen, Imo’s, Stefanina’s, West Allen Grill, Playtime Party Center, and Wentzville House of Beauty.
The success of the SCRIP program depends on the participation of each family. The more families involved in purchasing SCRIP, the more money we can make for our parish and school. If each St. Patrick family uses SCRIP for their purchases, we have the potential to make as much as $200,000 in profits per year.
SCRIP is NOT just a school fundraiser. You can decide where you would like your profits to go. They can go to the full-time school, or you can designate that the percentage go to PSR, the general parish fund or the building fund. Just mark your order form.
Scrip earnings percentages are subject to change. Please understand that we cannot give you any higher percentage than what we actually receive from the vendor.
If you know you may need a large quantity of an “on hand” vendor, please try to let me know with at least a weeks notice.
SCRIP makes great gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, graduations and Christmas!
Does your employer give Christmas gifts or adopt families for the Holidays? How about approaching them and asking them to think about Scrip? It will be easy “One Stop Shopping” (meaning less hassle) for them.
Consider taking both order forms to work so co-workers can Christmas shop without the hassle of crowded parking lots and long lines.
Do you travel for work? We can order in Scrip for your lodging – Hyatt, Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, Double Tree, Clarion Family of Hotels, and Embassy Suites all with 4-12% returns. We can also order Scrip for your rental car – Budget and Avis both with 8% return. Are you flying? We can order in Delta cards to pay for your trip or Southwest Airlines (online Presto Pay only).
When can I buy SCRIP? We try to make it as convenient as possible for you to buy SCRIP. SCRIP can be purchased on the weekends at all Masses. During the school year, school families can send orders through school. There are sales at the SCRIP room on designated weekday mornings after drop-off and Tuesday through Friday afternoons before pick-up. When you send orders to school, on-hand orders sent in by Wednesday morning will be sent home by Friday. Pre-orders sent in by Wednesday morning will be ordered on Sunday afternoon and sent home the next Wednesday.
How to Get Set-Up for eScrip and Presto Pay
There are two parts to getting this set-up.
First, you have to log onto the www.shopwithscrip.com website and set-up an account using the St. Patrick enrollment code: 8C4LA747873L. This will get you set-up to buy SCRIP cards online. When you do this you are purchasing ACTUAL cards that will be mailed to the SCRIP coordinator, Tina Van Booven, and she will get them sent home to you (through your student) or you can pick them up in the SCRIP office.
The second part is, if you want to purchase eScrip and have access to the card immediately, you HAVE TO set-up Presto Pay. This is very easy to do, but it MUST be done in order to have instant access to use your gift card. This is the process of linking your checking or savings account to your eScrip account. It is completely safe and easy to do. Once you link your checking or savings account to the eScrip account, you will see 2 small deposits, usually under 25 cents, into your account. This is done to verify your bank account. Once you get notification of those transactions, you will get an email with an activation code. You then submit that information to Tina Van Booven at email@example.com and she activates your account. It is VERY important to do this step if you want to use your gift cards IMMEDIATELY!
As eScrip and Presto Pay users will tell you, this can be done when waiting in line, or if you know you are heading to a store and will be purchasing something. You can use it at Starbucks, Panera, Old Navy, Lowes, Sams (Walmart cards), or any place you know that is on eScrip. You buy the amount you want right on your phone, get an email notification that it is ready, then pull up the barcode and have the checker scan it from your phone. Easy, peasy! Users HIGHLY recommend it, especially if you are like others and don't necessarily know where you will be shopping and what cards you will need. You can also send gift cards to people this way--think out of town friends, family, nieces, and nephews for birthday gifts!
**As of right now, CVS requires the actual print out of the gift card
Get your accounts set-up with Presto Pay so you are ready to shop! It does take a couple of days to get it all set-up, so do it now before the holiday shopping season is upon us! Once you get all
set-up, you will get email notifications of specials that are happening, especially before the holiday season, when there is one-day only extra percent on select places, sometimes as much as an extra 8%!
If you haven't linked your checking or savings account to eScrip, you will not be able to order from your phone, but it will be actual cards that will be sent to Tina. This is a great (and easy) way to add money to your Home & School account, as well as, money back on your tuition next year. If you have any questions, Tina Van Booven & other SCRIP users are happy to help you. We have volunteers that would be happy to sit down with you and go through all of the steps so you can get going! There are some people who are set-up for online eScrip, which is ordering actual cards but haven’t completed the second step, which is linking your accounts so you can use Presto Pay. There is a difference!
On-hand vs. Pre-orders - On-hand orders are for cards that we physically have in stock. Pre-orders are for cards that we send off for and take a few days to arrive at the Scrip room.
Are Volunteers Needed? Yes, we are always in need of volunteers. Please consider joining a great group of volunteers and help raise money for your school. A little bit of your time can help the SCRIP program in a huge way.
Stop by the SCRIP room to learn more about how easy it is to use SCRIP. If you have not done so in the past, please consider purchasing SCRIP. Thanks for your support!
