Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Fall Festival this past weekend was truly awesome! I want to acknowledge everyone who contributed to making the Fall Festival a success. While we’ve mentioned a few individuals by name—Tom Stuckey, Rob Pierski, Kevin Gaudy, Jill Gould, Valerie Langford, Mary Green, Mark Niehaus, Dennis Stevens, Scott Swindler, Home & School and the Fall Festival Committee—I recognize that many others played vital roles as well. If I inadvertently omitted anyone, please know that your efforts are deeply appreciated, and I’m grateful for the spirit of community that everyone demonstrated.
Financially speaking, the event netted about $116,000. And while that number represents a very successful day of fundraising for the parish community, the most important takeaway was the awesome sense of community in Christ Jesus experienced by all. I was stopped many times over the weekend by both parishioners and visitors. All of them commented about the family-friendly, welcoming culture of St. Patrick Parish. Some of them had just moved to the community; others had found their to St. Patrick Parish through the school; through PSR; through ACTS, through the Knights of Columbus, etc. However they came to the parish didn’t matter; that said, they all encouraged/challenged me as pastor to work diligently to maintain the culture here in Wentzville, as we make our plans for expansion.
Challenge accepted by me! Let’s do this together in these coming years so that we might continue to grow the Body of Christ here in Wentzville, as we form disciples and lead all to Christ!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Dan Shaughnessy
