SCRIP

What is SCRIP and how does SCRIP work? SCRIP is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase SCRIP, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash.

You can use SCRIP for everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials. With every SCRIP purchase, you earn money for St. Patrick at no additional cost to you. This is an important thing to remember. AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU.  The vendor is the one who gives the parish a percentage of money.  The amount you buy at the Scrip room is the amount you get to spend.  Every penny of it.   SCRIP can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline, vacations, and even dining out. There are literally hundreds of vendors who participate in the SCRIP program.

Here are just some of the examples of SCRIP you can buy.  Grocery Stores: Dierberg’s  and Shop n Save.  Gas cards:  BP, Mobil and Shell.  Home Improvement:  Home Depot and Lowe’s.  Department stores: Dillards, Macy’s, JC Penny,  Kohls, and Walmart.  Specialty stores: Bass Pro, Cabela,  Blockbuster, Walgreens, Game Stop, Best Buy,  and Sport Authority to name a few. Restaurants and Fast Food: McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Red Robin, Bob Evans, Olive Garden and many, many more!  We also have support from local businesses:  Dairy Queen, Imo’s, Pizza Pro, Stefanina’s, West Allen Grill, Playtime Party Center, and Wentzville House of Beauty.

The success of the SCRIP program depends on the participation of each family. The more families involved in purchasing SCRIP, the more money we can make for our parish and school. If each St. Patrick family uses SCRIP for their purchases, we have the potential to make as much as $200,000 in profits per year.

SCRIP is NOT just a school fundraiser. You can decide where you would like your profits to go. They can go to the Full time school, or you can designate that the percentage go to PSR, the general parish fund or the building fund. Just mark your order form.

Scrip earnings percentages are subject to change. Please understand that we cannot give you any higher percentage than what we actually receive from the vendor.

If you know you may need a large quantity of an “on hand” vendor, please try to let me know with at least a weeks notice.

SCRIP makes great gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, graduations and Christmas!

Does your employer give Christmas gifts or adopt families for the Holidays? How about approaching them and asking them to think about Scrip? It will be easy “One Stop Shopping” (meaning less hassle) for them.

Consider  taking both order forms to work so co-workers can Christmas shop without the hassle of crowded parking lots and long lines.

Do you travel for work? We can order in Scrip for your lodging – Marriott, Hyatt, Best Western, Marcus Hotels, Clarion Family of Hotels, and even the Ritz-Carlton all with 4-12% returns.  We can also order Scrip for your rental car –  Budget and Avis both with 8% return.  Are you flying? We can order in American Airlines cards to pay for your trip.

When can I buy SCRIP? We try to make it as convenient as possible for you to buy SCRIP.  SCRIP can be purchased on the weekends at all Masse.   During the school year, school families can send orders through school. There are sales at the SCRIP room Monday through Friday mornings after drop off and Monday through Thursday afternoons before pick up. When you send orders through school, on-hand orders sent in by Wednesday morning will be sent home by Friday. Pre-orders sent in by Wednesday morning will be ordered on Sunday afternoon and sent home the next Wednesday.

Are Volunteers Needed? Yes, we are always in need of volunteers. Please consider joining a great group of volunteers and help raise money for your school. A little bit of your time can help the SCRIP program in a huge way.

Stop by the SCRIP room to learn more about how easy it is to use SCRIP.   If you have not done so in the past, please consider purchasing SCRIP

Thanks for your support!!!!
